Standing with our feet planted firmly to the ground, we have a deep connection to tradition, despite being open-minded and maintaining our easiness. That’s how we see us and how we are and want to be.

Our farm looks back on a long history: The Aussergost manor was first mentioned in record in the 17th century. The farm has been owned by our family for more than 500 years.

At first the farmer worked in the wine-growing sector, than they shifted over to livestock breeding and the cultivation and processing of fruits and grain.

Since the end of the 1980s, we concentrate our energies on the accommodation of our guests, renting apartments and cooking.

After years of apprenticeship in renowned restaurants ( such as the Tantris in Munich, the Ca’s Puers in Soller at Mallorca or in the restaurant of the Obauer Brothers in Werfen near Salzburg) Franz opened his restaurant the Gostner Schwaige in the late 1990s.

Together we – Franz and Petra and his parents Michl and Julla – are always working to improve our unique and distinctive offer: The Gostner Schwaige with our widely renowned alpine cuisine and our Aussergost manor with our four marvelous suites.

And the next generation is already in its starting blocks, with our two charming and spirited daughters, Annalena and Julia …


We named our four suites after four very important women, which lived here in the last 200 years. A lot of their energy and wisdom resides in the walls of the farm. We are delighted that they gave so much to us and gladly carry it forward, dedicating our work to their memory.
